Have you ever experienced yourself scrolling mindlessly through social media without any purpose?
Do you also feel the urge to do it again when you take out your phone?
You open your phone and the first thing your fingers do is click on TikTok or Instagram and scroll through the cute dog, LGBTI discussion, or toxic masculinity videos?
If you feel this way, you’re not alone…
I was doing it for a long time too. I’ve wasted so much time. I couldn’t stop.
I knew that if I did this my whole life I would regret it when I’m old. What stories should I tell my grandchildren?
“When I was your age, I was in bed scrolling through social media mentally masturbating because life was good.”
Is that what you want to tell your children or anyone? Hopefully not…
I would be ashamed of myself if I had to tell something like this to my grandchildren, and they would be ashamed of such a lousy grandpa too…
Mindless scrolling will not just let you regret your past. There is more to it:
You feel empty without purpose in life.
No drive to achieve great things.
You waste time.
Everything in life gets less enjoyable.
Depression.
Low Energy.
No will to do something.
Self-doubt.
Distraction from what is important.
Life quality drops.
So many more…
If this is not enough to stop mindless scrolling, I do to know what will.
If you realize that this is not what you want in life, then listen closely. Mindless scrolling doesn’t do you any favor. What does you do a favor is when you start consuming with a purpose. The purpose has to be creation. You consume to create, not to be entertained. Use your consummation to:
Create new Ideas.
Built projects.
Gain knowledge.
Built something meaningful that gives you purpose in life. This will lead to a fulfilling life in which you will be happy.
Not only does creating give you purpose to your life, it also can get you money. The creator economy is bigger than ever. People make millions by creating content, building and audience, and providing them solutions for their problems for an exchange of money.
BUT, if you do not stop scrolling and binging, you will never use social media to your benefit, you will always use it to distract from reality.
Put time limits on social media.
Unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you to become the person you desire.
Research instead of mindless scrolling.
What you consume is what you will be.
